Lead and manage safeguarding operations within the Student Services department, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and providing oversight for case management and student welfare.
Responsibilities
- Lead safeguarding operations, including staff induction, appraisal, and performance management.
- Oversee case management, ensure timely responses, and maintain high-quality CPOMS records in collaboration with the DSL and Group Head of Safeguarding.
- Resolve safeguarding and wellbeing concerns, manage high-level incidents, and support disciplinary and risk assessment processes.
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and attend multi-agency meetings.
- Analyze safeguarding data, produce executive reports, deliver staff training, and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Level 3 DSL qualification
- Level 5 safeguarding-related qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Strong general education including GCSE-level English and Maths
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Extensive experience managing safeguarding for children, young people and vulnerable adults
- Strong knowledge of Prevent, CONTEST, CPOMS and equality, diversity and inclusion practices
- Skilled in handling complex cases and managing competing priorities
