Team Leader - Safeguarding (Designated Person)

About This Role

Lead and manage safeguarding operations within the Student Services department, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and providing oversight for case management and student welfare.

Responsibilities

• Lead safeguarding operations, including staff induction, appraisal, and performance management.
• Oversee case management, ensure timely responses, and maintain high-quality CPOMS records in collaboration with the DSL and Group Head of Safeguarding.
• Resolve safeguarding and wellbeing concerns, manage high-level incidents, and support disciplinary and risk assessment processes.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and attend multi-agency meetings.
• Analyze safeguarding data, produce executive reports, deliver staff training, and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Level 3 DSL qualification
• Level 5 safeguarding-related qualification (or equivalent experience)
• Strong general education including GCSE-level English and Maths
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications
• Extensive experience managing safeguarding for children, young people and vulnerable adults
• Strong knowledge of Prevent, CONTEST, CPOMS and equality, diversity and inclusion practices
• Skilled in handling complex cases and managing competing priorities

Qualifications
