About This Role

This role involves teaching Modern Language (Spanish) at the secondary level, developing and delivering lesson plans, assessing student progress, and collaborating with staff and parents to ensure student success within established curriculum guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Administer subject-specific assessments and state tests to assess student competency levels and develop individual learning plans
  • Advise parents and/or legal guardians of student progress, communicate expectations, and reinforce classroom goals
  • Analyze test data and plan instructional responses for enhancing student achievement
  • Assess student progress towards objectives, expectations, and goals to provide feedback to stakeholders
  • Assist students with the exploration of post-high school opportunities
  • Collaborate with professional learning communities, instructional staff, and parents to improve student outcomes
  • Counsel students for the purpose of improving performance, health status, and problem-solving techniques
  • Demonstrate methods required to perform classroom and/or subject-specific assignments
  • Differentiate classroom work and integrate district initiatives to provide individualized learning
  • Direct paraprofessionals, volunteers, and/or student workers for effective classroom programs
  • Facilitate student learning through creating a learning environment, integrating technology, and organizing activities
  • Instruct students to improve their success in academics through a defined course of study
  • Integrate district initiatives (e.g., literacy, diversity, technology) to increase student achievement
  • Maintain a variety of confidential and non-confidential manual and electronic files and records
  • Manage student behavior for the purpose of creating a safe and caring environment
  • Monitor students in various educational environments to provide a safe and positive learning environment
  • Participate in a variety of meetings for conveying and/or gathering information to boost student achievement
  • Prepare a variety of written materials (e.g., grades, attendance, lesson plans) for documenting student progress
  • Report incidents (e.g., fights, suspected child abuse) for maintaining student safety and adhering to policies
  • Respond to emergency situations for resolving immediate safety concerns
  • Respond to inquiries from students, teachers, parents, and administrators for resolving issues

Requirements

  • Missouri State Teaching Certificate
