Teacher of Digital Video Production/Technology

About This Role

Teach Digital Video Production and Technology Education at Timber Creek High School, fostering a positive learning environment and promoting active skills development in students. Develop lesson plans, assess pupil progress, and communicate with parents.

Responsibilities

• Work to achieve State core curriculum content standards and District educational goals and objectives by promoting active learning and skills development in the classroom
• Teach pupils through an approved course of study using Board-adopted curricula, textbooks, and other appropriate teaching materials
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide opportunities for individualized and small group instruction
• Set specific objectives in lesson preparation and weekly lesson plans and carry through presentation to effectively achieve these objectives
• Assess pupil academic progress and personal growth toward stated objectives of instruction
• Maintain records of pupil’s educational progress for reporting purposes
• Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and resolving learning problems
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a classroom climate conducive to learning
• Communicate with parents to inform them about the school program and to discuss pupil progress
• Devise written and oral assignments and tests that require analytical and critical thinking
• Supervise pupils in out-of-classroom activities as assigned
• Maintain professional competence and continuous improvement through inservice education and other professional growth activities
• Participate in school-level planning, faculty meetings/committees and other school system groups
• Make effective use of community resources to enhance the instructional program
• Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations and Board policy
• Perform other duties within the scope of employment and certification as assigned

Requirements

• Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate and Subject Area Endorsement or eligibility for #4104, #4105, or #1810
• Highly qualified teacher in area of instruction
• Demonstrated knowledge of subject specialty and effective teaching methods
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
