About This Role

This part-time itinerant teacher position provides specialized instruction and enrichment to students identified as Talented Arts Visual (TAV) and/or Gifted across multiple school sites. The role involves designing and delivering differentiated curriculum to foster creativity, critical thinking, and advanced problem-solving skills, while collaborating with teachers, leaders, and families.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver enrichment and accelerated instruction aligned to TAV and Gifted standards and students’ identified strengths and interests
  • Provide direct instructional services to identified TAV and Gifted students across assigned school locations
  • Identify, screen, and assess students for TAV and Gifted services in accordance with state and district criteria
  • Differentiate instruction to address students’ academic, social, and emotional needs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support differentiated instruction, extension activities, and inclusive practices
  • Monitor and document student progress; maintain accurate records, service logs, and required reports
  • Develop and facilitate enrichment activities, projects, performances, competitions, and special programs
  • Support students with goal-setting, independent learning skills, and time management
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, services, and enrichment opportunities
  • Participate in professional development to remain current with best practices in gifted and talented education
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state, district, and school policies related to gifted and talented services

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
  • Valid state teaching certification

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
  • Experience teaching gifted, talented, or advanced learners in a K–12 setting preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree
  • Gifted and/or Talented Arts endorsement or willingness to obtain
  • Experience teaching gifted, talented, or advanced learners in a K–12 setting
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction, project-based learning, and enrichment strategies
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently across multiple school sites
  • Demonstrated passion for fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a love of learning in students
