Survey Manager

About This Role

The Survey Manager is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient management of the survey department for a leading civil construction contractor. This role ensures all survey operations are completed with precision, consistency, and compliance to project specifications and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise field survey crews and CAD technicians, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables
• Provide survey crews with all necessary layout data and coordinate project setup
• Prepare and maintain GPS machine control files for construction operations
• Review, prepare, and sign as-built drawings and documentation as required
• Train and support project teams in GPS technology and data collection methods
• Perform survey calculations, data analysis, and field verification
• Conduct as-built data collection and field layout for sitework and utilities using GPS and robotic total stations
• Maintain detailed notes, logs, and reports for all survey activities
• Troubleshoot GPS and machine control issues to keep operations running smoothly

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional survey experience in civil construction
• Florida-licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Surveyor and Mapper (P.S.M.) authorized to seal as-built drawings
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills
• Clean driving record and willingness to travel to project sites as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional survey experience in civil construction
