This role assists the Facilities Operations Manager in day-to-day management, planning, and coordination of facility operations. Responsibilities include advising on maintenance and repairs, developing inspection schedules, and monitoring contractor performance.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Facilities Operations Manager in day-to-day management of the organization
- Conduct short and long-term planning with supervisor and leaders for major work operations
- Participate in establishing production goals and major work schedules
- Develop cost and budget analysis or forecasts
- Assist in determining long-range manpower requirements
- Serve as principal advisor and troubleshooter on all maintenance and repairs
- Coordinate and integrate activities in HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and construction maintenance and repair
- Develop building inspection schedules and make inspections
- Serve as Contract Monitor ensuring quality work within contractual provisions
- Develop performance plans, evaluate performance, approve leave, and recommend training, awards, and disciplinary actions
Requirements
- One year of specialized experience at MS-12 grade level
- District of Columbia 1st Class Steam Boiler Operator’s License
- Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
- Thorough knowledge and experience supervising day-to-day facility operations including building and maintenance repair, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and construction
Qualifications
- High school diploma or a certificate of equivalency (GED)
- At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (MS-12), directly related to the position with knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties.
