Supervise, train, and evaluate engineering personnel responsible for the design and specification of protection systems for distribution, customer, and bulk substations, as well as distribution and sub-transmission lines. Ensure conformance to engineering codes and company procedures while managing project schedules and costs.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and evaluate engineering personnel performing studies, design, and specification duties.
- Set design criteria and ensure work group's conformance to codes, regulations, applicable engineering practices, and company procedures/policies.
- Plan, schedule, prioritize, and coordinate activities to ensure assignments are completed relative to time schedules and costs.
- Interface with vendors, contractors, consultants, suppliers, interconnected utilities, and governmental/regulatory agencies.
- Keep abreast of state-of-the-art developments and improvements in power system protection.
- Contribute to the personal and professional development needs of the engineers in the group.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in power system protection design or maintenance
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Option desired) from an accredited college or university. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Five or more years of experience related to power system protection design or maintenance.
Nice to Have
- Master's Degree
- Professional Engineer License
- Power system protection experience with knowledge of symmetrical components, use of computers, and protection devices.
- Familiarity with Ameren subtransmission and distribution system, and schematic control diagrams.
- Good leadership, management, analytical, communication, flexibility, and human relations skills.
- Willingness to travel
- Openness to relocation
