About This Role

This role will oversee and facilitate supervised visits and exchanges between children and non-custodial parents, creating a safe, supportive, and structured environment for families in Bemidji, MN.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor visits and exchanges between visiting parent(s) and child(ren)
  • Ensure the safety of the child(ren) at all times
  • Report any alleged or suspected child abuse and/or neglect
  • Remain a neutral third party during visits and provide non-biased documentation
  • Intervene or end visits if program rules and expectations are not followed
  • Complete visit documentation for services provided within expected timeframe
  • Complete face-to-face or phone check-ins with family in their home, community, or school
  • Communicate concerns with the Visitation Coordinator and Program Supervisor
  • Maintain building security and cleanliness
  • Follow all program and agency policies and procedures
  • Complete required assigned trainings for the position and agency
  • Attend and participate in consultation, program, and agency staff meetings

Requirements

  • At least 21 years old
  • Valid driver’s license
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass a DHS background study and meet applicable requirements and regulations
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in human services or related field is preferred
  • Experience working with children and/or families, human services, child protection, or related systems is preferred
