About This Role

Oversee daily site operations for Earthwork projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, design specifications, budget, and project timelines. This role involves direct management of lead personnel and on-site staff to enhance efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate daily with General Superintendents regarding job-specific needs, including workforce and equipment.
  • Contact job site crews daily to ensure project time schedule and workforce needs are met.
  • Schedule subcontractors and monitor their work for agreement compliance.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure employees have up-to-date information on safety procedures and policies.
  • Conduct daily Job Hazard Awareness meetings, daily stretching, and weekly Tool Box topics.
  • Complete daily record keeping, including logs, equipment schedules, material schedules, and timecards.
  • Manage field personnel fairly and equitably according to Company policies and legal compliance.
  • Address staff performance issues as they occur.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings and regular job site meetings.
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation for reporting safety issues, equipment damage, and workplace injuries.
  • Ensure all work follows specified quality standards and inspect field work and materials.
  • Respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members.
  • Participate in training for construction methods and safety, and support staff training opportunities.
  • Keep supervisor informed of actions affecting ability to perform assignments or company operations.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years related experience or equivalent education and experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, reports, construction plans, specifications, and legal documents.
  • Ability to use Outlook, Word, Excel, iPad, and iPhone.
  • Strong communication and scheduling skills.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply them to practical field quantity situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Must be over the age of 18.
  • Union affiliation or willingness to join the union is required.

Qualifications

  • Two to five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
