As a Product Management Intern on the SiriusXM Listener Experience team, you will contribute to the creation of compelling digital audio experiences for millions of listeners. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to bring differentiated features to market, prioritize improvements, and measure success across various platforms.
Responsibilities
- Support the evolution of content discovery, personalization, and utility surfaces across SiriusXM’s mobile, web, TV, and automotive experiences.
- Contribute to cross-surface product initiatives that span metadata, content presentation, and listener navigation, helping to ensure consistency and clarity across platforms.
- Drive a feature, experiment, or process improvement end-to-end, from interviewing users and defining requirements through development and measuring results.
- Respond to existing insights or internal metrics to drive product decisions and prioritize work, using data to gain buy-in and excitement.
- Collaborate across functions to identify the best path, providing innovative and simple ideas to improve operational capabilities and benefit listeners and customers.
- Bring new thinking to challenge conventional wisdom and ask insightful questions.
- Document trade-offs for different approaches and work collaboratively with leaders to facilitate decisions.
- Identify problems, drive productive meetings, and create easy-to-understand documentation.
- Showcase work and get feedback from a large team of product management experts.
- Partner with a senior Product Manager on cross-platform initiatives that connect app, web, TV, and in-car experiences.
- Assist in defining and documenting metadata-driven product requirements, including how content attributes are presented across different devices and contexts.
- Support research, analysis, and synthesis related to listener behavior, content discovery, and habitual listening patterns.
- Help evaluate and improve content presentation systems (e.g., metadata, imagery, badges, and data hierarchy) to ensure clarity, consistency, and usability.
- Participate in cross-functional forums with Design, Research, Engineering, Program, and Automotive partners, contributing notes, insights, and follow-ups.
- Assist with product storytelling and documentation, including decks, briefs, and decision summaries that help align stakeholders.
- Learn how catalog data, content services, and clients work together to power user-facing experiences.
Requirements
- Interest in content platforms, personalization systems, or media discovery experiences.
- Curiosity about how data and metadata power user experiences across different devices.
- Comfort working through ambiguous problems and helping bring structure to complex systems.
- Strong written communication skills and an interest in product storytelling and documentation.
- Desire to learn how large-scale consumer products balance user needs, technical constraints, and business priorities.
- Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Qualifications
- Previous internship or work experience in consumer Internet or other consumer technology products preferred. Open to current students enrolled at a university (those graduating by May 2027 are preferred) and recent graduates who graduated within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship.
Nice to Have
- Previous internship or work experience in consumer Internet or other consumer technology products.
- Ability to collaborate with technical team members in an Agile-Scrum environment.
- Interaction design experience or user research experience.
- Ability to communicate with executive stakeholders, anticipating questions, and articulating decisions with supporting rationale.
- A passion for music and the ambition to create compelling and unique experiences that listeners and customers love.
