Subrogation Specialist I

About This Role

The Subrogation Specialist I analyzes third-party liability claims for recovery potential, interacts with claimants, attorneys, and insurance carriers, and coordinates claim development following company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Research claims referred to Subrogation to identify third-party potential
• Utilize Plan’s policies and procedures to perform timely resolution of subrogation cases
• Provide weekly reports regarding the status of open subrogation claims
• Log and track subrogation files
• Interact with claimants, internal & external clients, insurance carriers, and attorneys to document information needed to close claims
• Compose letters to client(s), attorneys, and claimants
• Document and track subrogation files through completion
• Respond to inquiries in a prompt and concise manner
• Support other projects as assigned by management
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• 2+ years of comprehensive insurance and subrogation experience
• Office and administrative skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Organizational skills to efficiently manage cases
• Good understanding of medical and claims processes
• Ability to analyze claim situations and take appropriate actions
• Excellent communication and documentation skills

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• 2 years or more of comprehensive insurance and subrogation experience
