The Student Recruitment Associate supports DC Prep's enrollment by conducting high-quality outreach and follow-up with Spanish-speaking families. This role involves representing the organization at community events and facilitating campus tours.
Responsibilities
- Support student enrollment goals by executing high-quality outreach and follow-up with Spanish-speaking prospective families
- Attend and represent DC Prep at relevant community-based prospecting events
- Facilitate Spanish-language campus tours at the Edgewood campus
- Host or support weekly Spanish-language virtual open house
- Ensure personalized 1:1 outreach for all Spanish-preferred language interest forms within one business day
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with community-based organizations
- Provide individualized outreach to Spanish-preferred language families who receive offers
- Accurately track outreach, event attendance, follow-up, and outcomes using DC Prep’s data systems
Requirements
- Experience working with children, youth, or families, with a demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships
- Experience in community outreach, enrollment support, student recruitment, or family engagement
- Strong commitment to educational equity and awareness of historic and current racial and economic inequities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and follow-up skills
- Comfort using technology and data systems (e.g., CRM tools, event registration platforms, spreadsheets)
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset, with ability to take initiative, think creatively, work independently, and adapt
- Alignment with DC Prep’s mission, values, and belief in the potential of all students and families
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with school enrollment processes
- Knowledge of the local DC community, especially Edgewood area
- Prior experience in outreach, canvassing, community organizing, or family engagement
