Student Recruitment Associate

About This Role

The Student Recruitment Associate supports DC Prep's enrollment by conducting high-quality outreach and follow-up with Spanish-speaking families. This role involves representing the organization at community events and facilitating campus tours.

Responsibilities

• Support student enrollment goals by executing high-quality outreach and follow-up with Spanish-speaking prospective families
• Attend and represent DC Prep at relevant community-based prospecting events
• Facilitate Spanish-language campus tours at the Edgewood campus
• Host or support weekly Spanish-language virtual open house
• Ensure personalized 1:1 outreach for all Spanish-preferred language interest forms within one business day
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with community-based organizations
• Provide individualized outreach to Spanish-preferred language families who receive offers
• Accurately track outreach, event attendance, follow-up, and outcomes using DC Prep’s data systems

Requirements

• Experience working with children, youth, or families, with a demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships
• Experience in community outreach, enrollment support, student recruitment, or family engagement
• Strong commitment to educational equity and awareness of historic and current racial and economic inequities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and follow-up skills
• Comfort using technology and data systems (e.g., CRM tools, event registration platforms, spreadsheets)
• Collaborative, team-oriented mindset, with ability to take initiative, think creatively, work independently, and adapt
• Alignment with DC Prep’s mission, values, and belief in the potential of all students and families

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with school enrollment processes
• Knowledge of the local DC community, especially Edgewood area
• Prior experience in outreach, canvassing, community organizing, or family engagement
