The Strategic Finance Lead at Tonic.ai connects Finance, Business Operations, and Strategy by owning financial architecture, spearheading C-suite special projects, and optimizing PLG. This role involves driving operational excellence across Product, Engineering, and Sales, as well as managing the budget.
Responsibilities
- Own the company-wide strategic planning process, including annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial modeling
- Analyze and iterate on pricing structures to maximize growth and retention
- Evaluate organic and inorganic growth opportunities, including M&A, strategic partnerships, and capital allocation strategies
- Lead mission-critical special projects requested by the C-suite and VPs across Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Sales
- Build and refine scalable processes across finance, business, and growth
- Own and optimize key finance and operating systems to ensure data integrity and operational leverage
- Drive the adoption of AI and automation across finance, business, and operating systems
- Own the preparation of Board materials, Investor updates, and internal business reviews, defining and tracking company-wide KPIs and OKRs
- Work closely with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Partnerships to align on strategic initiatives and investments
- Own the reporting and analysis of PLG usage metrics, linking them to the company's P&L and unit economics
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in GTM Finance / Strategic Finance at a high-growth technology company, direct investing (Private Equity, Investment Banking) covering enterprise SaaS/AI, or consulting experience
- Understanding of Enterprise SaaS mechanics (ARR, NRR, CAC, Magic Number)
- Experience partnering with Sales and Marketing leaders
- World-class modeling skills and ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable strategic narratives
- Ability to effectively influence stakeholders across Product, Engineering, and Sales without direct authority
- Builder mentality, comfortable building processes from scratch in a fast-paced, unstructured environment
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a GTM Finance / Strategic Finance role at a high-growth technology company and/or direct investing (Private Equity, Investment Banking) covering enterprise SaaS/AI or consulting experience.
