About This Role

Receive, store, inventory, issue, and deliver materials and supplies in a storeroom or warehouse setting for the County of San Diego. This role may involve working with incarcerated individuals and operating point-of-sale terminals in a detention facility.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, inventory, issue and deliver a variety of materials, supplies, and equipment
• Assign, train, instruct, lead, or supervise incarcerated persons (Sheriff's Office assignment)
• Perform retail tasks such as scanning items on a point-of-sale terminal (Sheriff's Office assignment)
• Deliver Commissary orders in designated areas of a detention facility or within Sheriff's Commissary Stores

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months storeroom experience (receiving, storing, issuing, delivering, inventorying supplies)
• Comfortable working in a jail environment and interacting with incarcerated persons (Sheriff's Office assignment)
• Ability to work any shift, holidays, or weekends (Sheriff's Office assignment)
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Effective communicator and customer focused
• Ability to work with computers and related technology (computerized system, point-of-sale terminal, mobile delivery devices)

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of storeroom experience in receiving, storing, issuing, delivering, and inventorying supplies, materials, and equipment.

Nice to Have

• Forklift experience
• Retail experience (Sheriff's Commissary assignment)
