Steward/Porter

About This Role

Join the Coral Casino Beach & Cabana Club team as a Steward/Porter, responsible for cleaning and maintaining kitchen and service items, ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards in all F&B areas.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain kitchen and service items including glassware, tableware, utensils, plates, and food preparation equipment using manual and machine cleaning methods
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards of the dishwashing station, service stations, quick service counter, and other F&B service and common areas
• Perform all trash removal and sanitation of all F&B areas of the club
• Report to work and clock in/out for scheduled shifts and breaks on time and in proper uniform
• Maintain personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards
• Sort, rinse, and clean dirty items and place them in appropriate racks for machine and pot wash areas
• Organize and stack clean dishes, storing them in proper areas and monitoring cleanliness
• Maintain a proper, neat, clean, and safe dishwashing area
• Clean floor mats, ensure floor area is dry and safe, wipe up spills, sweep, mop, and scrub floors
• Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pick-up areas, and cleaning garbage cans
• Set up and break down workstation at the start and end of each shift, completing daily opening and closing duties
• Stock supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad bars
• Communicate supply, maintenance, safety, and storage needs to management promptly

Requirements

• 1+ year of pot washing, dishwashing, or kitchen experience in a restaurant
• Ability to read and comprehend memos, correspondence, and special instructions
• Basic math skills
• Attention to detail
• Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow Club policies, systems, controls, and procedures
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, days, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum 1 year of pot washing, dishwashing and/or kitchen experience in a restaurant environment

Nice to Have

• English/Spanish bi-lingual preferred
• Basic knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment/machinery
• Basic knowledge of proper chemical handling preferred
