Station Gas Attendant

About This Role

This role provides excellent customer service by fueling vehicles and handling payment transactions, ensuring a positive experience for customers.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, answer questions, and provide prompt, courteous service
• Activate pumps and fill customer fuel tanks with the correct grade and amount of fuel
• Provide receipts of sale to customers
• Handle all payment transactions with customers, mainly credit card transactions
• Direct all other forms of payment to the Cashier
• Complete assigned cleaning responsibilities
• Wash windshields
• Report any suspicious activity to the direct supervisor and authorities
• Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance
• Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation
• Respectfully take direction from supervisor/district coordinator
• Maintain Chevron Customer First Standards
• Close the store when needed

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs
• Minimal computer skills necessary to operate a computer, log on, navigate Windows, perform simple tasks within applications, and enter information into a database
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Qualifications

• No prior experience or training required. Previous experience and/or training in fuel/gas station environment is preferred.
