This role involves monitoring, sustaining, and improving equipment and processes in a 200mm semiconductor manufacturing facility. The Staff Technician will partner with production teams and area engineers to maintain equipment performance, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and troubleshoot issues.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, sustain, and improve equipment and/or processes in the assigned area
- Partner with production team members and area engineers
- Monitor equipment performance
- Schedule and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on assigned tool sets
- Use mechanical, electronic and PC/software skills to troubleshoot and resolve equipment related issues
- Communicate updates on the status of equipment and area to the Lead Tech and/or Engineer
- Follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks
- Work independently and collaboratively with teams in a fast-paced environment
- Support and engage in training activities
- Recover equipment from process interruptions, complete event documentation and effectively communicate end of shift pass downs
- Utilize time management to prioritize and plan daily work and scheduled activities
Requirements
- 2 Year Technical/Associates Degree in Science, Math, Engineering, Semi-Conductor Manufacturing or a related discipline or equivalent military training/experience or equivalence
- At least 6 years direct experience working in semiconductor manufacturing or in semiconductor tool/equipment/facilities maintenance
- Fluency in English Language – written & verbal
- Ability to perform shift work on a 12-hour shift schedule, including working in a cleanroom environment
- Ability to wear all required clean room protective clothing and equipment throughout a 12 hour day
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift
- Ability to perform work in a standing position for majority of a 12 hour shift
Qualifications
- 2 Year Technical/Associates Degree in Science, Math, Engineering, Semi-Conductor Manufacturing or a related discipline or equivalent military training/experience or equivalence
- At least 6 years direct experience working in semiconductor manufacturing or in semiconductor tool/equipment/facilities maintenance
Nice to Have
- Experience reviewing Statistical Process Control charts for process quality and reacting to Out-of-Control conditions including defect troubleshooting
- Experience developing & enhancing operating procedures
- Active participation in continuous improvement projects, learning and skills development
- Ability to read and comprehend schematics / blueprints / electrical diagrams
- Experience utilizing basic hand tools and quality workmanship principles
- Experience with troubleshooting and structured problem-solving techniques
- Basic understanding of the principles of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
- 8+ years of direct experience working in semiconductor manufacturing
- Project management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong planning & organizational skills
