Sr. Survivors Assistance Specialist

About This Role

Guide members' beneficiaries and act as a liaison between insurance companies and members for credit life and disability insurance claims. Ensure protection of account records and process transactions according to policies, while providing empathetic service.

Responsibilities

• Assist members via telephone, e-mail, and written correspondence to provide guidance to SSFCU member’s beneficiaries upon the member’s death
• Serve as a liaison between the insurance companies and members regarding credit life and disability insurance claims
• Provide courteous and empathetic services to all family members of the deceased accountholder
• Ensure rights and account records are protected from third party disclosure
• Independently process a variety of transactions and inquiries in accordance with established policies and procedures

Requirements

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in a financial institution
• Minimum two (2) years in credit life and/or disability claims filing or an equivalent area
• Specialized experience in Trust account rules and regulations
• Familiarity with court documents required in settlement of deceased accounts
• Good problem solving and negotiation skills
• Ability to work and thrive in a high volume environment
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills of a professional nature

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in a financial institution with a minimum of two (2) years in credit life and/or disability claims filing or an equivalent area
