This role will optimize energy efficiency and uphold operational standards through structured documentation and strategic planning.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design and deployment of air-cooled and liquid-cooled data centers, including power, cooling, and rack integration
- Perform data center rack-level power and thermal load calculations; determine PDU configurations, circuit capacity, voltage selection (208V, 415V, 480V), and phase balancing (2-phase/3-phase)
- Understand data center mechanical and electrical (M&E) infrastructure drawings, including line diagrams for UPS, generator backup, transformer, and power switching logic
- Support and optimize DCIM platforms for visibility into real-time environmental monitoring, asset management, and power utilization
- Define and enforce data center SOPs, build standards, structured cabling guidelines, and rack & stack best practices
- Act as a subject matter expert in Data Center AI/HPC/Enterprise infrastructure design
- Analyze and report on data center facility SLAs, power usage effectiveness (PUE), capacity planning, and environmental metrics
- Collaborate with facilities and IT teams for ongoing M&E maintenance, retrofits, and root cause analysis of infrastructure issues
- Oversee vendor and partner engagement, including negotiation of Master Service Agreements (MSAs), NDAs, and contracts with structured cabling, mechanical, and electrical vendors
- Participate in liquid cooling system design, including cold plate or immersion cooling solutions for GPU/AI workloads
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in data center engineering, build design, or facility operations
- Proven expertise in air-cooled and liquid-cooled environments, including high-density rack integration
- Strong knowledge of power systems (PDUs, breakers, transformers) and facility distribution voltage (208V, 415V, 480V)
- Familiarity with Uptime Tier Standards, and electrical code compliance
- Experience in vendor management, partner evaluation, and contract negotiation
- Proficiency in reading and generating M&E drawings, rack elevations, structured cabling maps, and capacity layouts

- Strong analytical, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in data center engineering, build design, or facility operations
Nice to Have
- Good understanding of IT Operations and interconnectivity solutions including Network, Systems
- Understanding of electrical infrastructure redundancy (e.g., A/B power, UPS, PDU) and failover systems
- Exposure to mechanical systems such as CRAC, CRAH, and cooling containments
- Familiarity with green energy or sustainable data center practices
- Background in data center compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.)
