Sr. Project Manager - Electrical Power

About This Role

This role manages and coordinates the installation and startup of Caterpillar generator packages, working with technicians, contractors, and customers. It involves ensuring quality, logistics, financial oversight, and providing technical expertise to support project success.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and coordinate all aspects of new projects from initial purchase order receipt through completion, including product delivery and customer acceptance.
• Confirm that all delivered equipment meets site requirements and proactively respond to requests for information or changes.
• Oversee the delivery, offloading, and installation of equipment, supporting technicians and contractors to ensure correct installation and adherence to customer timelines.
• Manage and monitor project expenses and schedules to maximize profitability while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Act as the focal point to provide answers to technical and application questions about Caterpillar and related products, supporting engineering, contractors, and sales teams.
• Work with vendors to resolve technical inquiries and build strong relationships with suppliers to enhance project outcomes.
• Perform additional related duties as needed to support team success.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 10+ years of experience in project management, purchasing, and/or customer service (preferably in electric power industry with Caterpillar)
• Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), AutoCAD, and database systems
• Ability to operate CAT PC and Main Frame Programs
• Thorough understanding of electrical and mechanical product installation and application
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and coordinate multiple competing tasks

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 10+ years of experience or the equivalent in project management, purchasing, and/or customer service, preferably in the electric power industry and particularly with Caterpillar.

Nice to Have

• College degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• Direct knowledge of Caterpillar generator set products
• Experience with CxAlloy or similar commissioning software platforms
