Sr Bridge Engineer

About This Role

Lead and manage highway bridge projects, contributing to the development and growth of an employee-owned firm. Responsibility includes technical task management, staff development, and business development.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical tasks and relevant staff
• Lead bridge design tasks and staff development
• Assist with business development
• Apply structural design codes including AASHTO LRFD and AASHTO LRFR
• Utilize structure design software including MIDAS
• Mentor and develop staff
• Complete and check complex engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and estimates for various bridge components
• Provide operational and project management support to the bridge lead
• Provide technical development for a variety of bridge projects
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and final design documents
• Oversee work, quality control, client coordination, and daily technical aspects of assigned projects

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Bridge Engineering
• BS/MS in Civil Engineering
• Demonstrated technical experience
• Micro-station and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
• Working knowledge of AASHTO Design Guidelines

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Civil Engineering
• 8 or more years of experience working on municipal and state highway bridge projects in Bridge Engineering

Nice to Have

• PE License
• Familiarity with providing services to NHDOT and/or VTrans
