Manage a Field Territory as a Sr. Auto Appraiser, investigating, negotiating, evaluating, and appraising vehicle damage claims for repairable and total loss vehicles. Ensure estimate accuracy and provide exceptional member service while complying with state laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and appraise highly complex auto physical damage claims using digital tools, adhering to contract terms, corporate guidelines, and state laws.
- Investigate claim damages by communicating with insured parties, internal adjusters, and third parties/vendors, potentially requiring face-to-face interactions.
- Review facts of loss and vehicle damage for subrogation opportunities, ensuring all physical damage documentation is in the claim.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of P&C insurance industry products, services, contracts, processes, and systems to ensure compliance.
- Review claims for fraud indicators and refer to Special Investigations Unit when applicable.
- Maintain accurate and current claim file documentation throughout the claims process for complex cases.
- Maintain high productivity through effective desk management, timely follow-ups, and accurate repair plan mapping.
- Review additional damages from repair facilities to complete supplements or triage for field inspection.
- Serve as subject matter expert for disputed claims or trials and as a resource on escalated issues.
- Partner with vendors and internal business partners to resolve highly complex claims, including external regulatory coordination.
- Proactively provide policyholders with information on coverage, estimates, and the claims/repair process.
- Support workload surges and catastrophe (CAT) response operations, including mandatory on-call dates and potential off-hours work.
- May be assigned CAT deployment travel with minimal notice.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
- 2 years of auto appraising experience
- Proficient knowledge of P&C insurance policy contracts and coverages, auto parts distribution process, and claim appraisal process and procedures
- Advanced working knowledge of estimating losses using CCC or similar estimating platforms
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
- Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days and 3 attempts
