About This Role

Provide excellent and efficient customer service to VWR customers by performing preventive maintenance, IQ/OQ/PV, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration to analytical instruments. This role involves traveling to customer sites, training customers on equipment use, and documenting repairs and improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide preventive maintenance, IQ/OQ/PV, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration to analytical instruments (HPLC, GC, Spectrophotometer, electronic, and mechanical equipment)
  • Install and train customers in the equipment use at customer sites
  • Travel throughout the territory to provide technical expertise
  • Document and report all repairs and product failures, providing recommendations on equipment and improvements
  • Help with the development of preventative maintenance procedures, IQ, OQ and PQ for the division
  • Execute sequence of testing and calibration program for instruments and equipment according to specifications
  • Diagnose equipment failures and repair per manufacturers guidelines
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of test apparatus and peripheral equipment
  • Confers with clients, group leader, and other technical workers to assist with equipment installation, maintenance, and repairs techniques
  • Analyze and convert test data, using mathematical formulas, and report results and proposed modifications
  • Set up test equipment and conduct tests on instruments and equipment
  • Disassemble and reassemble instruments and equipment, using hand tools, and inspect for defects
  • Consult with clients on a regular basis regarding usage, placement and potential future needs of the equipment
  • Recommend corrective actions to the customer when needed
  • Maintain technical skills through ongoing manufacturer’s certification and continuing education

Requirements

  • 3 years related technical experience
  • Experience in preventive maintenance, IQ/OQ/PV, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration to analytical instruments (HPLC, GC, Spectrophotometer, electronic, and mechanical equipment)
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
  • Analytical skills to understand implications of new information for problem-solving and decision-making

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/ Associate’s degree in Electronics, Instrumentation or Chemistry preferred
  • 3 years related technical experience required
