Sprinkler Apprentice

About This Role

The Sprinkler Apprentice will assist with the installation and modification of various fire sprinkler systems, including Wet, Dry, Pre-Action, and Deluge, in compliance with NFPA standards and local codes. This role involves enrolling in a Fire Sprinkler Apprentice Program and developing knowledge of fire protection systems while upholding company safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation and modification of fire sprinkler systems under supervision
• Enroll in the Fire Sprinkler Apprentice Program, attending classes approximately two evenings per week
• Develop knowledge of fire sprinklers, fire pumps, backflows, and standpipes
• Follow verbal and written instructions and provide accurate documentation of work performed
• Demonstrate professional communication and customer service skills
• Operate hand and power tools common to the trade
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and adhere to company safety policies
• Maintain company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic knowledge of hand tools
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements

• Previous experience working with fire sprinkler systems or similar mechanical systems
• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools commonly used in construction or mechanical work
• Basic understanding of plumbing or pipefitting principles
• Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints or technical drawings
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
