Special Education Teacher

About This Role

The Special Education Teacher will support middle school students in Plymouth, MA, during the Extended School Year (ESY) program, focusing on developing and implementing individualized education plans to foster inclusive learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Deliver differentiated instruction to a diverse group of students with varying learning abilities
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
• Collaborate with general education staff and families to support student success
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by state regulations and school policies

Requirements

• Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for middle school settings
• Experience working with students with disabilities in a school environment
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, best practices, and instructional strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
• Ability to maintain a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere
