Special Education Teacher

About This Role

The Special Education Teacher will provide specially designed instruction aligned with IEP goals and state standards, supporting students with diverse learning needs in a collaborative school environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Provide differentiated instruction tailored to students with disabilities
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff
• Collect and analyze data to monitor progress toward IEP goals
• Maintain compliance with federal and state special education regulations
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs
• Create a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
• Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid state Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility)
• Knowledge of IEP development, accommodations, and modifications
• Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills
• Student-centered educator with a passion for inclusive education
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Patience, flexibility, and strong advocacy skills for students

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
