Special Education Teacher

About This Role

This role involves planning, organizing, and implementing appropriate instructional programs for students with special needs. The goal is to create a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop their academic potential.

Responsibilities

• Understand and support the mission, vision, and values of Harmony Public Schools
• Design and implement appropriate instruction in assigned content areas
• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials
• Utilize varied teaching practices and methodologies to meet diverse student needs
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
• Conduct tutoring sessions to meet student needs
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and adjust teaching strategies
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and district policy

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
