About This Role

Plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment to help students develop their academic potential. This role involves designing lesson plans, managing student behavior, and communicating with students, parents, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and support the mission, vision, and values of Harmony Public Schools
  • Model and instill a love of learning in students
  • Design and implement appropriate instruction of content area(s) in line with school standards, curriculum, and student needs
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials maximizing student engagement and learning
  • Utilize a variety of teaching practices and methodologies to meet individual needs of students from diverse backgrounds
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
  • Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system while developing students’ character and sense of community
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and adjust teaching strategies based on information
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms
