Special Education Teacher

About This Role

Teach and support students with extensive special needs, implementing individualized education plans and fostering a positive learning environment. This role contributes to students' intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement student Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Design and provide specially designed instruction (SDI)
• Administer instructional activities that contribute to a positive climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences
• Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the unique needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs
• Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement
• Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process

Requirements

• Valid California Special Education Credential (Moderate to Severe Disabilities certification) or enrolled in a Special Education program and can work as a full-time teacher intern
• Bachelor's degree

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
• Previous experience working with students with challenging behaviors preferred.
