Teach and support students with extensive support needs, specifically those with Autism and/or coexisting Intellectual Disabilities, within a highly structured educational setting. Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to foster intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide an educational atmosphere where students can fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth
- Organize and implement individual instructional programs for students to achieve academic success
- Develop and implement student Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences
- Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs
- Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement
- Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process
Requirements
- Valid California Special Education Credential in Moderate to Severe Disabilities
- Bachelor's degree
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- At least 1 year of experience working with students with emotional disabilities preferred
Nice to Have
- At least 1 year of experience working with students with emotional disabilities
- Spanish speaking
