About This Role

Teach and support students with extensive support needs, specifically those with Autism and/or coexisting Intellectual Disabilities, within a highly structured educational setting. Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to foster intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an educational atmosphere where students can fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth
  • Organize and implement individual instructional programs for students to achieve academic success
  • Develop and implement student Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences
  • Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs
  • Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement
  • Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process

Requirements

  • Valid California Special Education Credential in Moderate to Severe Disabilities
  • Bachelor's degree

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • At least 1 year of experience working with students with emotional disabilities preferred

Nice to Have

  • At least 1 year of experience working with students with emotional disabilities
  • Spanish speaking
