Software Safety Assurance Lead

About This Role

Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of software safety processes for railway signaling platforms and solutions, ensuring compliance with Safety Standards and defending Safety Cases to external assessors.

Responsibilities

• Perform Safety Assurance activities on project/product development in accordance with the Safety process
• Support tenders by providing Safety Estimates
• Define the Safety Plan, including safety workload, and associated planning for the project/product development
• Perform Safety Analysis
• Apply the safety assurance methodologies defined for the project/product development to meet Safety Targets
• Manage the Hazard Log through closure
• Support V&V and T&C activities from a Safety perspective
• Build and defend Safety Reports and/or Safety Cases in front of external (ISA) assessors
• Lead (if any) Safety Assurance Engineers involved on the project/system/product
• Manage Safety Issues of fielded solutions

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in safety assurance or safety-critical applications
• Knowledge and understanding of Safety Standards (AREMA, CENELEC, or equivalent)
• Software programming and diagnostics skills
• Embedded software safety experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering (System, Electrical, Electro-mechanical, Software)
• 5+ years’ successful experience in safety assurance or safety-critical applications
