This role involves providing juvenile court intake and ongoing supervision to juveniles, coordinating services, and acting as a liaison between the agency, families, and providers for the Sauk County Department of Human Services.
Responsibilities
- Perform duties and responsibilities as defined in Chapter 938 of the Wisconsin Statutes and established court procedures
- Develop and implement appropriate case plans based on information from interviews, court and police reports, referrals, therapists reports, court orders, school reports, family, self-reporting and other sources regarding clients and families’ situation
- Assess risks and need levels from compiled information
- Recommend dispositional terms of supervision, services, counseling, therapy, protective placements and/or alternate care to families and/or the court
- Provide supervision and/or case management of deferred prosecution agreements, consent decrees and court orders
- Coordinate services with treatment providers, school personnel, law enforcement and the court systems
- Provide, plan, develop, implement and/or coordinate recommended services
- Testify in court as appropriate
- Develop court reports based on risk and needs assessments
- Participate in on-call rotation for Sauk County after hour’s on-call system providing support and services for children who have been abused and/or neglected and for juveniles’ alleged delinquent or status offense
- Assess immediate safety of child and/or community secures out of home placement to address immediate needs when necessary through voluntary or temporary physical custody measures as is appropriate and consistent with state statutes
- Provide individual and family counseling regarding services and referrals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or other related field
- Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License
- Ability to obtain a Wisconsin State Social Worker License within 6 months of start date
- Ability to obtain Juvenile Court Intake Worker Certification within 6 months of start date
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or other related field
Nice to Have
- 1-2 years of child welfare services experience
