The SMT Operator is responsible for setting up and operating automated Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment to produce the company's electronic products. This role involves monitoring product quality, conducting inspections, and maintaining component databases.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate a variety of automatic or semi-automatic SMT machines
- Work from specific drawings, procedures, and process documentation to perform production tasks
- Pay attention to process controls and inputs to monitor product quality, including Statistical Process Control
- Conduct product inspection according to specific procedures
- Use PC-based software tools for setups and maintain component and machine specific databases
- Interface with Engineering and other support groups regarding line problems and process improvements
- Follow all Company Safety and ESD Program requirements and report accidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions
- Properly handle and dispose all waste, including hazardous wastes
Requirements
- 1-2 years equivalent experience
- Knowledge of PCB handling, ESD practices, and IPC-610 standards
Qualifications
- High School or equivalent
- 1-2 years equivalent experience
Nice to Have
- SMT Operator experience preferred
