SLPA Supervisor

About This Role

Supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) in school-based settings, ensuring adherence to state and federal guidelines and providing clinical mentoring. This role involves reviewing student records, evaluating treatment decisions, and contributing to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities

• Represent SPG’s core values and deliver high-quality services
• Supervise SLPA candidates following state and federal (ASHA) guidelines for direct and indirect supervision
• Review student records, monitor, and evaluate the treatment decisions of the assistant
• Evaluate and oversee the assistant's ability to provide therapy services at assigned site(s)
• Develop appropriate IEP goals and attend IEP meetings for students on SLPA’s caseload
• Write progress notes that align with data collection from the SLPA and direct observations/interactions with the student
• Guide the development of a plan for the assistant to complete twelve (12) hours of continuing professional development every two years

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Current CA SLP license
• 5 years post-CF experience
• Completion of the initial 6 hours of supervision professional development training
• Fingerprint background clearance
• Tuberculosis (TB) clearance

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• 5 years post-Clinical Fellowship experience

• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
