About This Role

Join the instructional team at Appalachian Ski Mountain to teach skiing and snowboarding fundamentals, fostering a positive learning environment and inspiring a love for snow sports in guests of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Teach beginner to intermediate guests the fundamentals of skiing or snowboarding in group and private lessons
• Create a safe, fun, and encouraging learning atmosphere
• Adapt teaching methods to various ages, abilities, and learning styles
• Provide clear demonstrations, positive feedback, and motivation
• Promote safety awareness and responsible mountain behavior
• Assist guests with use of equipment, lift loading, and other on-hill needs
• Communicate effectively with guests, parents, supervisors, and fellow instructors

Requirements

• Strong skiing or riding ability
• Enthusiasm
• Good communication skills
• Genuine interest in helping others learn
• Friendly, patient, and service-oriented personality
• Ability to work outdoors in variable winter conditions
• Available weekends and holidays during the ski season (December–March)

Qualifications

• Entry level with training provided. Previous teaching or snowsports experience is helpful but not required.

Nice to Have

• Experience teaching, coaching, or working with children or guests
• Prior instructional or PSIA/AASI certification
