Join the instructional team at Appalachian Ski Mountain to teach skiing and snowboarding fundamentals, fostering a positive learning environment and inspiring a love for snow sports in guests of all ages.
Responsibilities
- Teach beginner to intermediate guests the fundamentals of skiing or snowboarding in group and private lessons
- Create a safe, fun, and encouraging learning atmosphere
- Adapt teaching methods to various ages, abilities, and learning styles
- Provide clear demonstrations, positive feedback, and motivation
- Promote safety awareness and responsible mountain behavior
- Assist guests with use of equipment, lift loading, and other on-hill needs
- Communicate effectively with guests, parents, supervisors, and fellow instructors
Requirements
- Strong skiing or riding ability
- Enthusiasm
- Good communication skills
- Genuine interest in helping others learn
- Friendly, patient, and service-oriented personality
- Ability to work outdoors in variable winter conditions
- Available weekends and holidays during the ski season (December–March)
Qualifications
- Entry level with training provided. Previous teaching or snowsports experience is helpful but not required.
Nice to Have
- Experience teaching, coaching, or working with children or guests
- Prior instructional or PSIA/AASI certification
