The Site Support Staff plays a crucial role in providing administrative and clinical assistance within a healthcare setting. This position involves welcoming patients, managing calls, maintaining health records, and directly assisting medical providers with patient care.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist patients, their families, and visitors entering the health center
- Operate the phone system to relay incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls
- Schedule appointments for multiple sites and confirm demographic information
- Maintain health records according to established health center procedures
- Assist providers in the administration of patient care in assigned clinical areas
- Perform general administrative duties in accordance with CLIA, NCQA, PCMH, government standards
- Check patients in and out of the health centers, verifying insurance and authorizations
- Process billings and payments, and answer patient questions regarding accounts
- Support and assist clinical providers and professionals, participating in huddles
- Screen and respond to patient phone messages, providing assessment and documentation in EMR
Requirements
- Ability to secure transportation for reliable work attendance
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) CPR certification or willing to obtain within 6 months
Nice to Have
- Medical Assistant Certification/Registration
- Licensed Practical Nurse Licenses
- Proficiency in Word & Excel
- Experience with Electronic Health Records system
