Shop Manager / Mechanic

About This Role

Join SRM Concrete as a Shop Manager / Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair diesel-powered vehicles and heavy machinery, ensuring the fleet operates efficiently and safely for project demands.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment, including oil changes, lubrications, and filter replacements
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, electrical systems, and hydraulic problems in diesel engines and equipment
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify issues and determine the necessary repairs
• Rebuild, replace, or repair major components of diesel engines, such as heads, blocks, starters, and transmissions
• Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures in the workshop and on the job site
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work
• Stay updated on the latest diesel engine technology and repair techniques

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Commitment to safety standards and protocols

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification in diesel engine repair is a plus
• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in the concrete industry or related fields

Nice to Have

• Vocational or technical certification in diesel engine repair
• CDL
