Shop Crane Technician

About This Role

This role involves inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various crane equipment, including mobile cranes, with focus on electrical and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain various crane equipment including mobile cranes (All Terrain, Rough Terrain, Crawler Cranes, Boom Trucks, knuckle booms, bucket trucks, etc.)
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges
• Read and understand operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints and technical drawings
• Test mechanical, electronic, electrical and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications
• Prepare for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness
• Accomplish tasks independently without direct supervision
• Maintain conformity to safety requirements, manufacturer procedures, and other regulations
• Properly fill out working reports, hour’s reports, time sheets, hour’s overviews, work orders, and expense reports

Requirements

• 3+ years experience as Mobile Crane Mechanic/Technician
• Ability to operate and inspect cranes to diagnose defects
• Working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS, LICCON, and Greer systems
• Experience with electrical and hydraulics
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mobile Crane Mechanic/Technician

Nice to Have

• History of working with different forms of mobile crane equipment, specifically Grove RT and TMS Cranes; Grove GMK European Cranes; Manitowoc, Liebherr, Terex, Palfinger, IMT, Cormach, National, Demag, Manitex, etc.
