This role involves providing expert management services to medical, surgical, OB/GYN, and/or primary care practices, overseeing multiple locations and specialties. The Director is responsible for ensuring quality patient care, financial stability, and managing daily operations and staff.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervise medical and practice personnel, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, and managing schedules.
- Collaborate with the senior management team to develop business strategies, manage projects, formulate budgets, and oversee daily physician practice operations.
- Evaluate practice and patient outcomes and facilitate process improvements.
- Work closely with billing and coding departments to ensure practices are current with procedures and techniques.
- Conduct periodic audits within practices to ensure performance metrics are met or exceeded.
- Ensure front desk procedures minimize claim declines and enhance collections.
- Advise senior management on key issues, trends, patient/physician issues, and recommend office procedure improvements.
- Ensure all charge capture procedures are followed and charges are batched timely and accurately.
- Prepare and monitor monthly reports including volumes, visits, charges, RVUs, and similar practice key indicators.
- Manage collection of copayments and cash balancing, and prepare payroll.
- Oversee provider appointment schedules, ensuring smooth patient flow and minimizing backlogs.
- Ensure accuracy of patient information in medical records and proper follow-up for testing and prescriptions.
- Develop and monitor goals and objectives for practice operation and train staff on office processes and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and DHSR standards.
- Assist in budget preparation, monitor progress, analyze variances, and prepare data/trending analysis reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare or business administration
- 3 years healthcare experience
- Knowledge of practice management systems and EMRs
- Familiarity with CPT & ICD10 coding
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or business administration required
- 3 years healthcare experience required; multipractice, large practice with multiple locations, or faculty practice direct experience preferred.
Nice to Have
- Master’s Degree in healthcare-related field or equivalent
- Multipractice, large practice with multiple locations, or faculty practice direct experience
- Membership in related professional association
