The Senior Systems Specialist - Engineer (DCS) is responsible for the configuration, administration, and lifecycle planning of PCT production systems, including troubleshooting, support, and development.
Responsibilities
- Local DCS/SIS/PLC systems administration
- Standardized DCS configuration
- Serve as a key contact for third-party systems maintenance contractors (Puffer, HIMA)
- Identify, develop, and implement systems optimization opportunities within the PCT layer for PCT systems
- Support strategic and capital projects involving PCT systems
- Lead in ensuring OT Security practices are followed per Covestro OT Security standards
- Work closely with production, IT, and PCT engineers to optimize system architecture and lifecycle management
- Support production and PCT for local PCT systems including DCS Systems, HIMA, Local PLC, PI and all related interfaces
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Engineering or related field with at least 10+ years’ experience with production control systems OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related degree with at least 6 years’ experience with production control systems
- Eligibility to apply for and obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within a reasonable timeframe
- Proficient programming skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Able to work and act autonomously and assertively
- Demonstrate self-directed and non-authoritative leadership skills
- Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Engineering or related field OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related degree
- At least 10+ years’ experience with production control systems with an Associate’s degree OR at least 6 years’ experience with production control systems with a Bachelor’s degree
Nice to Have
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in ICA (Instrumentation, Control, Automation) Engineering or related fields
- Thorough understanding of PCT concepts/practices
- Good understanding of maintenance and project management
- Good knowledge of Engineering tools and software - SAP, Meridium
