This role involves ensuring the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe's computer systems and information. The Senior Systems Security Engineer will safeguard personnel and tribal members while maintaining compliance with cybersecurity best practices and industry frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, and architect all aspects of systems security, business continuity, and disaster recovery
- Monitor security solutions, investigate alerts, and respond to identified security threats and incidents
- Research, develop, and implement a secure AI strategy from a systems security perspective
- Maintain accuracy and success rate of vulnerability and patch management solutions
- Manage, configure, and operate the SIEM/SOAR security solution
- Conduct security scans and penetration testing to validate and remediate information systems' security posture
- Conduct threat hunting within internal systems environment
- Develop a training apprenticeship program for junior cybersecurity personnel, providing mentorship and creating training materials and virtual labs
Requirements
- Experience with penetration testing and Kali Linux
- Experience with AV/EDR, SIEM/SOAR and SOC management
- Experience with vulnerability management and patch management
- Experience with hardening ADUC, GPM, and OS environments (Windows, Linux, MacOS, VMware)
- Experience with ADFS, SAML, API, SSO, and MFA
- Experience with scripting languages and automation (Python, PowerShell)
- Experience with Azure, M365, Defender for Identity, Purview, Intune, and Entra ID
- Experience with ADCS, PKI/certificate authority, and OpenSSL
- Experience with HA and BCDR
- Experience with security frameworks (NIST, CIS Controls) and regulations (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, FERPA)
- Ability to manage highly confidential information
- Ability to demonstrate strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to demonstrate acute attention to detail
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, OR Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, OR Associate's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, OR Ten or more (10+) years of directly related industry experience in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 4 years of related industry experience with a Master's degree, 6 years with a Bachelor's degree, or 8 years with an Associate's degree; 10+ years without a degree.
