Lead a team of purchasing professionals within Spirit AeroSystems' Supply Chain Management Organization, focusing on the procurement of materials and services for commercial aerostructures. This role involves managing the full lifecycle of purchased components to ensure timely delivery to the assembly line and collaborating with global suppliers and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead supply chain team, ensuring process management, alignment with business objectives, collaboration on planning, process improvement, and problem resolution
- Oversee procurement agents to ensure global suppliers meet performance targets, maintain compliance, and drive operational excellence
- Execute supply chain strategy to support business growth and mitigate risks, ensuring continuity and efficiency
- Implement process improvements and lead initiatives to streamline operations, reduce waste, and drive cost reduction
- Develop inventory plans, ensuring alignment with business needs and mitigating cost variances
- Ensure adherence to governance, regulations, and policies to support operational excellence and minimize risk
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment to meet customer requirements and performance standards
- Act as supply chain program focal in support of an Integrated Product Team
- Manage and oversee supply chain execution strategies to support statement of work program projects
Requirements
- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- 2+ years in a leadership role within a production environment
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI)
- Proficient in project management tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively
- Proven experience in negotiating and managing supplier contracts
- Strong financial acumen and commercial negotiation skills
- Ability to drive change, improve processes, and manage project timelines effectively
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, Mechanical engineering or related field
- 5+ years of supply chain experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within a production environment
Nice to Have
- MBA or Master’s degree
- Experience with MRP systems
- Experience with SAP
- Experience with manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of governance and compliance, including AS9100 or similar audits
- APICS certification
- CPIM certification
- CSCP certification
- Understanding of APQP and quality management systems
- Experience in supplier management and recovery execution strategies
