About This Role

This role involves managing disaster recovery and emergency management consulting projects, extracting and analyzing public health and epidemiological data, and presenting findings to clients. The position requires extensive knowledge of federal disaster assistance programs and strong project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and direction of project to subordinates
  • Manage client relations
  • Develop and apply project methodology
  • Oversee project scope and budget
  • Monitor project performance and personnel
  • Interface with clients to resolve project-specific issues
  • Assist in the development of proposals, marketing, and client relations
  • Achieve operational objectives by contributing to strategic plans and implementing standards
  • Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements and managing budgets
  • Update job knowledge through educational opportunities and professional networking

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience
  • Extensive knowledge of DHS, FEMA, HUD and other federal disaster assistance programs (e.g., FEMA’s Public Assistance Program, Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, Community Disaster Loan Program, HUD Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery)
  • Understanding of community disaster recovery processes and the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and relevant software packages
  • Expertise in regulations governing or affecting public health and hospital programs
  • Effective written and oral communications skills
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to balance duties and responsibilities of multiple projects concurrently
  • Flexible style, able to immediately adapt to changing priorities

Qualifications

  • Advanced degrees in public health and/or epidemiology or a closely related field is preferred
  • 10+ years experience in public health, epidemiology, and/or disaster recovery project management

Nice to Have

  • Proven and/or advanced project management skills
  • Technical skills or strong understanding of technologies
  • Previous experience in consultative organizations
  • Experience in project management, including developing budgets and tracking expenditures
  • Experience in marketing and developing projects
  • Familiarity with marketing, proposal development, and oral presentations
