Lead capital investment projects from concept to commissioning for a manufacturing environment. Manage technical scope, commercial outcomes, and internal/external resources to deliver safe, on-budget, and on-schedule results across multiple manufacturing sites.
Responsibilities
- Lead full lifecycle planning and execution of capital projects (scoping, feasibility, scheduling, budgeting, vendor selection, design reviews, installation, commissioning, handoff)
- Develop business cases that quantify operational improvements, risk reduction, and financial impact
- Create cost estimates, forecasts, and resource plans; adjust as required to support execution realities
- Drive technical solutioning, evaluating options for performance, cost, safety, and maintainability
- Own equipment specifications and work packages; ensure alignment across operations, engineering, and procurement
- Review mechanical, electrical, and control system designs, ensuring functional compliance and startup readiness
- Manage external engineering partners, contractors, and suppliers to maintain cost, quality, and safety standards
- Support bid preparation and evaluations, negotiate commercial terms, and recommend award decisions
- Integrate safety, ergonomics, environmental compliance, and operational maintainability into equipment and process design
- Provide structured communication to stakeholders on status, issues, scope changes, and milestones
Requirements
- BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or similar)
- 5+ years of engineering experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience managing projects in the multi-million-dollar range
- Strong planning, scheduling, estimating, and contractor management experience
- Skilled in solving process/equipment issues and navigating ambiguous execution environments
- Effective communicator with ability to interface from production floor to leadership level
- Comfortable leading cross-functional project teams and influencing without direct authority
- Proficiency with project scheduling and standard productivity tools
- Willing and able to travel heavily to support multi-site execution
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or similar)
- 5+ years of engineering experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment; demonstrated experience managing multi-million-dollar projects.
