Senior Preconstruction Project Engineer - Battery Storage

About This Role

Join the Preconstruction Team within the Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) department to evaluate technical feasibility for project opportunities, advance projects through development, and support execution for Plus Power, a leader in energy storage.

Responsibilities

• Assess energy storage technologies and site layout options for optimal project value and minimized risks
• Analyze, assess, and present project technical risks, determining de-risking solutions
• Develop project capital and operational cost estimates and milestone schedules for financial valuation models
• Provide technical and project management support throughout the development cycle, including site visits and stakeholder meetings
• Support offtake, equipment procurement, and engineering/construction contracting activities to move projects towards NTP

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in technical roles or fields
• Experience in Power, Energy, Renewables, or BESS with familiarity of industry-specific terminology
• Knowledge of value proposition and technical fundamentals of energy storage development
• Experience with AutoCAD
• Experience reviewing engineering drawings and specifications
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in technical roles or fields

• Demonstrated success with technical-commercial contract negotiations
