Senior Operational Test and Evaluation Engineer

About This Role

Spectrum is seeking a highly qualified Senior Operational Test and Evaluation Engineer to support Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E) programs at Edwards AFB, CA. This role involves applying knowledge of AFOTEC's core processes to deliver high-quality technical products and recommendations for the B-21 Test Organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and technical subject matter expertise to the B-21 Test Organization
• Contribute to the development and measurement of test objectives
• Lead/Participate in/attend various program, technical, and test readiness reviews
• Review and contribute to OT&E-related documents, including Test and Evaluation Master Plans and reports
• Support writing of reports and memos, such as test event progress reports and final report sections
• Research and analyze available test options, determining best and most cost-effective methods
• Develop adequate test concepts, test methods, and analysis for effectiveness and suitability evaluations
• Determine test resources and schedules adequate to achieve suggested methods
• Identify appropriate test support tools for use in testing effectiveness and bomber effectiveness testing
• Prepare for and participate in selected flight and ground tests
• Prepare trip reports on all program-related meetings or conferences attended
• Recommend appropriate test facilities/ranges, review lessons learned, and recommend critical operational issues
• Develop test concepts and plans, data management and analysis plans, and briefings
• Develop evaluation methodologies and general analytic techniques, assess data requirements, and review specific tools

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• Eligibility for Top Secret clearance and NATO endorsements, plus special access programs (SAP)
• 6+ years practical knowledge of military aircraft systems and related fields
• 3+ years developmental or operational test and evaluation experience (test design, sortie optimization, data analysis)
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical field

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, aerospace, materials, manufacturing) or other technical field (mathematics, computer science, chemistry, physics)
• Minimum 6 years practical knowledge of military aircraft systems and related fields, plus minimum 3 years developmental or operational test and evaluation experience
