About This Role

Lead the newly formed U.S. public-sector engineering team, overseeing operations, teams, and projects for government agencies. This role drives operational maturity and excellence in delivery, focusing on balancing speed with strict compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing pod (SRE, Dev, Data, QA), ensuring clear ownership and high team velocity
  • Partner with government customers and internal teams to align technical solutions with organizational goals
  • Translate FedRAMP, FIPS, and STIG requirements into actionable engineering work, measurable milestones, and audit-ready artifacts
  • Drive a culture of reliability and quality, ensuring strong documentation and traceability throughout the delivery process
  • Collaborate with Product, Security, and Infrastructure leaders to manage dependencies and bridge the gap between U.S. operations and global R&D

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of engineering leadership
  • 3+ years building software for enterprise or government clients in production/SRE environments
  • Proven ability in planning, tracking, and risk mitigation within compliance-driven environments
  • Structured and proactive mindset regarding SLOs, incident response, and continuous improvement
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills, with a focus on executive-facing status reporting
  • U.S. citizenship and U.S. residency are required

Qualifications

  • At least 5+ years of engineering leadership, including 3+ years building software for enterprise or government clients in production/SRE environments.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure automation
  • Direct experience with NIST 800-53, FIPS 140-2/140-3, and secure delivery protocols
  • History of partnering closely with Security and QA organizations to ship regulated products across distributed teams
