This role is for a strategic communications expert responsible for driving executive positioning and advancing Covista's business narrative through compelling storytelling, media relations, and thought leadership. The Senior Manager will manage CEO and C-suite content development, executive social media presence, and journalist relationships to elevate executive visibility and enhance corporate reputation. This role also supports financial communications, including quarterly earnings and investor day.
Responsibilities
- Develop strategic executive content including speeches, talking points, bylined articles, and presentations for CEO and C-suite executives
- Lead executive social media strategy and management across platforms to position CEO and key executives as thought leaders in healthcare education
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with journalists covering higher education, healthcare, and business topics
- Execute media outreach campaigns featuring executive thought leadership and advancing Covista's business narrative with investors, policymakers, and industry stakeholders
- Coordinate media interviews and speaking opportunities for CEO and executives, serving as primary liaison and preparing comprehensive story frameworks
- Support quarterly earnings and investor day communications, partnering with investor relations, finance, and legal teams to develop executive messaging and media materials
- Analyze executive social media performance, media coverage, and visibility metrics with strategic recommendations and reporting
- Contribute to crisis communications with executive messaging, content, and media response coordination
- Leverage AI and technology to enhance content development, streamline workflows, and amplify executive communications impact
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, executive communications, media relations, or journalism
- Proven track record of successful executive content creation, media placement, and journalist relationship building
- Experience supporting C-suite executives or senior leadership teams (CEO communications preferred)
- Demonstrated expertise in both executive social media management and traditional media relations
- Crisis communications experience with ability to support sensitive executive issues and media crisis management
- Comfort with AI and technology with demonstrated ability to leverage these tools to enhance communications effectiveness
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with ability to adapt voice and tone for different executives
- Strong understanding of executive communications best practices, thought leadership strategy, and media relations
- Deep understanding of journalist needs, story angles, news cycles, and compelling, newsworthy content
- Excellent project management and organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously under tight deadlines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, executive communications, media relations, or journalism with a proven track record of successful executive content creation, media placement, and journalist relationship building
Nice to Have
- Background in higher education, healthcare, publicly traded companies, or regulated industries
- Experience supporting financial communications including earnings or investor events
