Senior Job Captain

About This Role

As a Senior Job Captain, you will provide design support in project administration, design development, and contract documents for a retail studio. You will be instrumental in shaping consumer experience through human-centered, insight-driven design for various retail projects, from flagships to large-scale rollouts.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report on active construction projects
• Attend and contribute to construction progress meetings
• Review and respond to contractor's submittals and requests for information
• Coordinate work of consultants and owner vendors during the construction phase
• Regularly communicate with owner, project manager, and contractor on construction matters
• Manage and coordinate changes in the work, including preparation of change documents utilizing Revit model
• Collaborate with the project manager and other members of the design team

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in retail projects, including ground-up new construction
• Advanced Revit skills
• Advanced BIM 360 skills
• Advanced interior architecture detailing skills
• Extensive knowledge of design principles and standards
• Working knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirements
• Working knowledge of CDs and procedures
• Working knowledge of contract administration
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead junior staff

Qualifications

• Graduate of architecture or design school
• 8+ years’ experience in retail project experience including Ground up new construction
