The Senior HVAC Technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment and minimal installations. This role also mentors entry-level technicians and ensures work complies with safety standards and client requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance services to existing HVAC equipment
- Complete all documentation of work performed in compliance with the CMMS data collection process
- Install, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, engines, pumps, belts, fans, air handling units, VAV and fan powered boxes
- Maintain the safe operation of systems including electronic/pneumatic environmental controls
- Examine environmental controls and stationary systems to diagnose problems using proper inspection/testing techniques
- Become familiar with the design and layout of facilities and operating procedures relating to environmental controls
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, OSHA, and client standards
- Inspect completed work for self and other technician’s conformance with local building and safety codes
- Inspect the work of other HVAC and General Trades technicians and serve as a mentor and trainer
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace while and after performing maintenance tasks
- Complete all required compliance, safety and developmental training as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 4-6 years Building maintenance experience
- Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance trades/skills
- Ability to read blueprints and as-built drawings
- Ability to work occasional on-call shifts
- Pass pre-employment drug test and criminal background check
- Microsoft Office skills
- Self-motivated, team player who can multitask, prioritize, and demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification
- HVAC License
- Valid Driver's License and insurance
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of building maintenance experience

- Refrigeration experience
- Previous experience managing others
